The customer asked us to apply cardboard discs using a robot in a continuous production line for film rolls.
Our realisation
Based on a robot simulation, we opted for a M710 type Fanuc robot, with a specifically designed gripper.
The robot was programmed to first take the correct disc from a turntable with different types. The gripper then centres itself in the film roll tube. Finally, the robot pushes the disc over the tube.
